With warm feelings of the holiday season surrounding us, there’s no better time to send out my heartfelt thanks to the entire SMC family for their hard work and dedication in 2021. So many of you worked beyond your scheduled shifts during the pandemic to make sure our patients were well cared for. Each minute you sacrificed means the world to the patients and to myself.
The festive holiday season brings about thoughts of the future as we leave the current year and move forward into 2022.
This year has seen new services and programs including the addition of neurosurgery, outpatient behavioral health services through Legacy, a unique medication-assisted opioid treatment program through the ED, our new physical therapy team Advanced Therapy Associates, and the recruitment of a new general surgeon and internal medicine physician.
The Blue Violet Award for Nursing Excellence and Salem Oak Ancillary Excellence Award have given us a chance to recognize our stand-out employees who go above and beyond. Congratulations to everyone who has been nominated and I look forward to honoring many more exemplary employees in 2022.
As the calendar changes, SMC will continue to undertake new projects, add services and welcome new physicians to further grow the quality of care we provide to our patients. I’m full of optimistic visions as we move forward.
I want to thank everyone for their loyalty and commitment to providing the best care possible this year. The commitment of each one of you is what makes us who we are. Together, we can make Salem Medical Center a destination of choice for Salem County and the surrounding communities.
A sincere wish for a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season for you and your family!
