With the holiday season in full swing, there is no better time to be with family and friends. In many ways, we at SMC are family, a family of caregivers. I am grateful for each of you: The care and compassion you bring to our patients daily, the help and assistance you provide to each other. I honor our clinical providers and staff who bring life-saving care to our community. It is not easy work, but it is crucial work. Thank you all for making a difference.
As we approach the end of our first full year as Salem Medical Center, we have much to be thankful for. On Feb. 1, 2019, SMC transitioned to new ownership and returned to not-for-profit status. Since then, the hospital has undergone many changes, including the celebration of our 100th birthday. As we head into 2020, we are focused on growing new services relevant to our community. Our future is bright.
SMC is undertaking new projects to allow the facility to grow, as it has during the past 100 years — the opening of a much-needed Behavioral Health Unit, a fully digital imaging suite, changes to our physical space, and more. Our newest vascular service line — Interventional Radiology — began in the past few weeks to help patients suffering from Peripheral Artery Disease and related issues. Welcome Dr. Scott Hollander!
I want to thank everyone for all their hard work and dedication to SMC this year. The commitment of each and every one of you is what makes us who we are. Together, we can make Salem Medical Center a destination of choice for Salem County and the surrounding areas.
A sincere wish for a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season for you and your family!
