For Linda Adams of Carneys Point, life after bariatric surgery is “absolutely wonderful.”
“It’s the best thing I’ve ever done in my entire life,” said Adams, who turns 68 in May.
Adams first encountered Bariatric Surgeon Harish Kakkilaya, MD, when her daughter had bariatric surgery four years ago.
“She told me he was the best and she was right,” Adams said. “I’ve already recommended him, and a couple friends have already called for consultations. I tell everyone who wants to lose weight to do it.”
Adams started her weight loss journey in August 2020 when she weighed 248 pounds. Since her surgery on Aug. 31, she has lost more than 80 pounds.
“My knees and hips feel so much better,” she said. “I have so much more energy and self-esteem.”
Adams was also surprised at how easy her recovery was.“I was amazed at how quickly I was back to normal,” she said.
And her new normal involves lifestyle changes she has adapted to easily.
“I eat about three ounces of protein and vegetables and I’m full,” she said. “I also walk everyday now. It’s been wonderful.”
