Salem Pharmacy & Surgical fills prescriptions for outpatients, Emergency Department patients and inpatients prior to discharge.

Community members with prescriptions from their doctor can have them filled and ready for pick-up here at SMC as well.

What is a Unit Dose Dispensing System?

Salem Pharmacy & Surgical offers a Unit Dose Dispensing System in weekly or monthly “Bingo Cards” making it easier for patients to stay on track with their medications. Special packaging divides all medications into morning, afternoon, and evening doses.

Does Salem Pharmacy & Surgical use the Electronic Prescribing System?

The Pharmacy can receive prescriptions via the Electronic Prescribing System which creates a safe, secure exchange of prescriptions between doctor and pharmacist, minimizes turn-around time, and maximizes security and accuracy of the prescription process.

Does Salem Pharmacy & Surgical offer automatic refill requests?

Salem Pharmacy & Surgical offers automatic refill requests which leads to increased patient medication adherence. Courtesy Calls are also offered to ensure patients don’t miss a dose of their prescribed medication.

Does Salem Pharmacy & Surgical offer free delivery or shipping?

Yes. Free delivery is offered to patients in Salem and free expedited shipping to anywhere in the country.

Is the pharmacist available to speak with?

Salem Pharmacy & Surgical Pharmacists are always available to assist not only patients but doctors as well in the case of making a drug selection for a complicated regimen or dose suggestion.

Will the pharmacist explain new medications that have been prescribed to that patient?

Our First Fill Counseling is designed to ensure the patients understand the importance of staying on their medications. On average, one in three patients will decide to discontinue taking the prescribed medication prior to their first refill.

Does the Salem Pharmacy & Surgical stock products other than prescription medications?

Salem Pharmacy & Surgical knows that managing a patient’s health needs a multi-faceted approach beyond traditional prescriptions only. Over the county and natural health products are available on-site.
