Cheryl Brown, a night shift radiology technician, recently went above and beyond her duties.
“I admitted a patient for comfort care,” said emergency room physician Paul Karagiannis, MD. “Unfortunately, the patient’s family was unable to be with her, so Cheryl sat at the bedside with the patient, held her hand, prayed, and played her soothing music.”
But Brown’s kindness and compassion didn’t end there.
“She went upstairs with the patient and continued to comfort her until she expired,” Karagiannis said.
Radiology Manager Kim Cassidy said the patients at SMC have benefitted from Cheryl’s compassion and positivity for the 25 plus years she has been with the hospital.
“This acknowledgement is just a glimpse into what Cheryl has always represented to those that know and love her,” Cassidy said.
