Congratulations Derek Landolfi, RN, on being named a Shining Star.
Derek is a “go to” kind of nurse. As night shift nurse supervisor, he is the kind of person you can count on at 3 in the morning.
“When we leave during the day, we feel good knowing Derek will be there at night,” said Chief Nursing Officer Donna Carson. “He is someone knows his way around and can handle whatever might come his way in the wee hours of the morning. He is always very pleasant, helpful, professional, and most importantly always follows through.”
As one nomination pointed out, Derek thinks about patients and their safety first. He goes above and beyond to ensure great patient care, including excellent customer service recovery.
According to his supervisor, Nancy Hampton, RN, Derek’s “dedication to our patients, our staff and his co-workers is a great example to all of us. Derek fills in wherever and whenever needed during his supervisory shift – whether that means triage in the ED, patient transfer, monitor tech relief for breaks, He is very responsive to changing his schedule as needed to help support the rest of the supervisory team.
“Derek is passionate about nursing practice and often gives good suggestions regarding policy revisions based on best practices. He is a valuable asset to Salem Medical Center and we thank him for his dedication and hard work.”
Congratulations Derek!
