Valerie Rinnier of Pedricktown, NJ, and her husband Robert received COVID-19 vaccines during SMC’s first round of vaccinations.
“I called SMC early in the morning. I was lucky,” said Rinnier, who worked at SMC as an RN for 47 years. “My husband and I were fortunate to get appointments, and the staff was great.”
SMC began offering COVID-19 vaccines to the community in early January.
“When we first announced community vaccines, the response was overwhelming,” said Dr. Tammy Torres, CEO. “At one point, we had more than 8,000 callers in queue.”
Dr. Torres is extremely happy to have inoculated so many in the first round, and is looking forward to scheduling more appointments as supplies allow.
“We understand that people are anxious to get the vaccine and we urge everyone to be patient,” Dr. Torres said. “We want to do everything in our power to stop the spread of COVID-19.”
SMC will continue to update smc.health as well as our social media platforms. Appointments are subject to supply. Please call 856-469-8555 for availability.
