Chief Nursing Officer Donna Carson, MSN, RN, will be the keynote speaker at 60th anniversary of the Salem Community College’s Practical Nursing (PN) program on Saturday, Oct. 5, 9:30-1130. The event is sponsored by Salem Medical Center.
“This is a truly an honor to speak at this celebration,” said Mrs. Carson. “We believe strongly in the value of practical nurses in the acute care setting. It is a privilege for me to speak on behalf of Salem Medical Center to this key segment of the nursing workforce.”
Mrs. Carson will be introduced by CEO Dr. Tammy Torres.
In addition to remarks from Mrs. Carson, the two-hour celebration will feature a slide show highlighting the flagship program’s history and a hot buffet served by Lapp’s Dutch Market.
The PN program was among the first programs at Salem Vocational-Technical Institute, which became Salem Community College in 1972. Today, SCC’s Practical Nursing ranks among the top PN programs in New Jersey.
The event is free. All PN alumni, current PN students, former PN faculty and staff, and program supporters are invited to a brunch at 9:30 a.m. in the Davidow Hall Lobby, 460 Hollywood Ave., Carneys Point, N.J.
