Justine Murphy, BSHA, RN, has been named Interim Chief Nursing Officer as we search for a permanent replacement.
As interim CNO, Murphy is responsible for patient care and the integration of nursing with clinical departments such as Pharmacy, Radiology, Laboratory, Cardiopulmonary, and Rehabilitation.
Murphy came to SMC in 2017 as Director of Perioperative Services. In 2020 she was named AVP of Clinical Operations.
Before coming to SMC, Murphy worked as Director of Perioperative Services at Brandywine Hospital for six years, and was Clinical Director of Perioperative Services at Pennsylvania Hospital — Penn Medicine in Philadelphia for three years prior.
Murphy began her career as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing.
She then worked at Graduate Hospital for 21 years, where she began as a staff nurse and later became Director of SICU/CTICU for nine years. Later, she served as Nursing Supervisor for six years and Director of Endoscopy and Pre-op for six years.
