Tammy Torres, DNP, MSN, RN, has been named Chief Executive Officer of Salem Medical Center, announced Ralph Padilla, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the hospital.
Dr. Torres served as interim Chief Executive Officer for the past several months. Ms. Torres recently served as the Chief Nursing Officer/Chief Operating Officer at Brandywine Hospital in Coatesville, Pa, from 2007 to present. Prior to her work at Brandywine, she served in a variety of roles for Tenet Healthcare (Philadelphia region), overseeing patient care services at Graduate Hospital as Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer from 2003 – 2007. She also worked for Cape Regional Medical Center, Hahnemann University Hospital, Deborah Heart and Lung Center, and Virtua Health.
Dr. Torres earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, a Master of Science in Nursing from Southern Connecticut State University, Hamden, CT, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Long Island University, Brooklyn, NY. She serves on the advisory board for both Immaculata University and Drexel University. Dr. Torres is married with three children.
