Catherine Meliniotis — Director of Behavioral Health
Catherine Meliniotis, RN, has an extensive background in healthcare leadership as well as clinical psychiatry specialties and clinical operations.
She is experienced in regulatory preparedness and maintenance, patient experience, evidence-based practice and clinical operations.
Prior to SMC, Meliniotis served as Clinical Director of Psychiatry: Addictions Medicine at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, PA, and Clinical Director of Psychiatry at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. She has been part of the behavioral health treatment team at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Friends Hospital in Philadelphia, and Hampton Behavioral Health Center in Westampton, NJ.
Meliniotis received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and a Bachelor of Arts in English/Communications from University of Delaware, Newark, DE. She earned certification in Psychiatry and Mental Health, and as a Nurse Executive from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
She is published in numerous journals and serves as one of seven National Content Experts in Psychiatry for the American Nurses Association. She also serves as Master Pool Judge for the NCLEX licensing exam for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
Her interests are in maximizing potential in leadership development, education of the numerous aspects of psychiatry, creative team cultivation and all facets of psychoanalysis and psychopathology.
Meliniotis is responsible for clinical, educational, planning, development, implementation and evaluation of all components of behavioral health services at SMC.
