Nilo Tiburan — ED Nurse Director
Nilo Tiburan, PhD, RN, NE-BC, CCRN, CEN, is a seasoned nurse leader and clinical nurse with 28 years of experience in bedside critical care, emergency nursing, critical care training and education, and healthcare management.
Tiburan comes to SMC most recently from Upper Chesapeake Emergency Department where he was Emergency Department Nurse Manager responsible for a 50-bed adult and pediatric emergency department with 65,000 to 70,000 annual visits, staffed by nearly 200 employees.
Tiburan received his PhD in Management — Leadership and Organizational Change with a focus on Healthcare Organization from Walden University. He completed his Dissertation on Diversity and Inclusion Management.
He received his Master of Science in Nursing — Leadership and Administration from the University of the Philippines where he graduated a full scholar.
Kirsten Maritim — Nurse Director for 2North and 3North
Kirsten Maritim, MS, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, brings with her 20 years of experience from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Oncology and Research Leadership/Management with 24/7 responsibility of those departments.
As home program manager/home facility administrator for DaVita Dialysis — her most recent position before joining SMC — Maritim was responsible for the 24/7 operation of the DaVita Home Dialysis Program at both the University City, Philadelphia, and Radnor, King of Prussia, locations.
Also experienced in financial management, Maritim has been responsible for monthly financial results, variance reporting and action plans to meet established budget objectives.
Maritim received both her Master of Science in Organizational and Strategic Leadership and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Neumann University, Aston, PA.
